In the present study, the reasons behind students’ choice of various professional degree courses were examined using a descriptive research method through a survey technique. The population consisted of students enrolled in professional courses in Shirpur Taluka. To collect data, the researcher prepared a self-constructed questionnaire and administered it to the enrolled groups of professional course students. A total of 227 students responded, and these students were selected as the sample for the research. For analyzing the collected data, statistical measures such as percentages were used. The students’ own interest and self-decision were found to be the most influential factors in choosing their courses. However, parental advice and career guidance at school also played a significant role. Nearly 50% of the students were willing to change their course in the future. Only 37% of the students were certain and satisfied with their current course, while the remaining students were still undecided about their choice.
