Abstract:
Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) was introduced in 2006 by Government of India. With an objectives of improving the livelihood security of the rural poor by providing guaranteed employment for 100 days. The paper examines the impact of Mahatma Gandhi NREGS on the women empowerment. MGNREGS is the first ever low that guarantees of wage employment to the rural population at a present scale and strengthening the natural resources through works. The concern of this paper is to study the participation level of women in MGNREGA. The study further reflected that decision making power of women improving after the implementation of this employment programme.
