Abstract:

The research paper titled "The Impact of School Teachers' Teaching Competence and Personality on Students' Academic Performance" seeks to highlight the significance of the teacher's role in the field of education. Within the school education system, a teacher is not merely a medium for imparting knowledge but serves as a fundamental pillar for the intellectual, social, and emotional development of students. A teacher's teaching competence, subject knowledge, classroom management skills, communication abilities, and positive personality directly influence students' academic achievements. The primary objective of this study is to analyze the impact of various dimensions of school teachers' teaching competence and personality on students' academic performance. The research focuses on teachers and students at the secondary school level. A descriptive survey method was employed, utilizing both primary and secondary data. Information was gathered through questionnaires, observation, and academic records. The study revealed that students taught by teachers who possess high levels of self-confidence, leadership qualities, positive behavior, effective communication skills, and proficiency in modern teaching methods demonstrated comparatively better academic performance. Furthermore, it was observed that a teacher's motivating behavior fosters an interest in learning, self-confidence, and discipline among students, thereby enhancing their academic achievements. Ultimately, the research concludes that special attention must be paid to teachers' teaching competence and personality development to improve the quality of school education. Teacher training programs should incorporate practical skills, personality development, and innovative teaching techniques to ensure the holistic academic development of students.
